Description:
The Leinster Coursing Club ran its major two-day meeting for many years at Old Carton near Maynooth, Co. Kildare, the ’meet’ being always fixed for 10am Salestown Cross on the first day. The 1984 event was held on 21 and 22 January. The picture shows the coursing field at Offalis on the first day, the hare swinging away from the crowd and ‘Red’ leading. Judge Tom Lawlor follows the course. The meeting was slipped by Luke Kilcoyne who had recently taken over the duties from the retired Johnny Ryan.
